The pianist and composer Abe Rábade (Santiago de Compostela, 1977) is one of the great names of Iberian jazz, a musician linked to both the highly successful scenes of Galicia and Portugal, as well as those of the rest of the peninsula. A good example is the group with which he will perform at Jamboree: the BCN Trio, which was formed two years ago. A graduate of the prestigious Berklee College of Music (Boston, USA), Rábade has composed more than 200 pieces spanning jazz, classical, experimental, and traditional music. As a composer, he has presented two symphonic works, ‘Tránsitos’ (2015) and ‘Tempos Velados’ (2018), and three poetic-musical works—’Rosalia 21′ (2008), ‘Travesia dos Poetas’ (2010), and ‘Lorca enamorado’ (2019). As an author, he has released fifteen albums under the Karonte label, including ‘Open Doors’ (2008), ‘Piano solo’ (2009), ‘Doravante’ (2018), and ‘Botánica’ (2022). He has also performed with great figures and in countries around the world.

Abe Rábade’s BCN Trio will perform this time with a special guest: Rale Micic. A guitarist and composer of Serbian origin, Micic has received praise for his solo work in magazines such as Downbeat and has collaborated with artists of the caliber of Tom Harrell. As a sideman, he has worked with Harrell, Don Friedman, Eric Alexander, the Marsalis brothers, and others. With Rábade’s trio, he will present at Jamboree the work they have recorded together, ‘Americana’ (Karonte), after performing at prestigious venues such as the Blue Note in New York and Carnegie Hall.
