JOE LASTIE'S NEW ORLEANS SOUND - feat. The Carlos Childe Band - Jamboree Jazz

Joe Lastie drums · Carlos Childe banjo, vocals · Giorgio Gallina trombone · Marcos Prieto clarinet · Adrián Begoña piano · Paolo Furio Marasso doublebass

Drummer for the Preservation Hall Jazz Band for over 30 years, Joe Lastie belongs to a long musical saga (his grandfather Frank Lastie was the first to play drums in gospel churches). Lastie has accompanied great musical figures such as: Fats Domino, Professor Longhair, Irma Thomas, Pete Fountain and Allen Toussaint and participated in the Broadway musical “One Mo ‘Time” with Topsy Chapman.
“When Lastie sits down at the drums the enthusiasm grows, as does the humor, the swing and the fullness of sound”: The New York Times.
Lastie presents his latest album “Jazz Corner of the World” in which he preserves the tradition of the city that saw the birth of jazz from African percussion, recalling Louis Armstrong, Lou Prima and Sidney Bechet.
Accompanying banjo and vocals is Carlos Childe, a regular musician on the New Orleans club circuit with Lastie. They present a sextet formation with which he has recorded the album titled “Where Y’at”.
