Both renowned instrumentalists, Jeff Denson (United States) and Romain Pilon (France), met 20 years ago at Berklee College Of Music. At that time, they strung together jam sessions, sharing a common taste for adventure and love for jazz without preconceived ideas. Since then, each on their side of the Atlantic has had brilliant careers recording numerous albums as leaders and collaborating with some of the world’s best jazz musicians: Lee Konitz, Joe Lovano, Ben Wendel, Jeff Ballard, Brian Blade… After a notable first album composed together and about thirty concerts in the United States, they come to present their new Opus, “Finding Light”. The trio is completed on drums with the fantastic Fred Pasqua. A Marseille native, with an authentic touch in all stylistic aspects, we could hear him alongside Nelson Veras, Walter Smith, Logan Richardson, etc. The music of this trio, interactive and generous, reflects the pleasure these musicians have in playing together.
