Irina González is a Franco-Cuban singer, guitarist, composer and multi-instrumentalist and author of lively compositions recalling jazz, Afro-Cuban and Caribbean sounds. As an instrumentalist, she has worked with great figures in Cuban music including Silvio Rodríguez, Pablo Milanés, Eliades Ochoa, Roberto Fonseca and Rolando Luna, and has performed alongside Liliana Herrero, Peteco Carbajal, Manu Chau, Flavia Coelho, La Yegros, Luz Casal, Faada Freddy, Danny Rivera, Aca Seca, Itiberé and Sílvia Pérez Cruz. Solo, she has recorded albums such as ‘Emigrar’ (2018) and ‘Tiempo’ (2022), in which she celebrates the sweetness of life, love and everyday things and demonstrates musical plenitude. At the Jamboree she will perform with the French double bassist Louis Navarro. Together, they will serve up a tasty cocktail harmoniously mixing the chords of a Brazilian guitar with the impulsive groove of the bass. They will also party with Creole rhythms from the Caribbean and Brazil, such as guajira, Cuban son, samba, bossa nova and gwoka.
