Pere Bujosa double bass & composition, Xavi Torres piano, Joan Terol drums.
Majorcan double bassist Pere Bujosa is one of the big names among the young Spanish jazz talent – a musician who last year toured, visiting cities like Mumbai, Bangalore and New Delhi. Bujosa plays in a trio with award-winning pianist Xavi Torres and drummer Joan Terol. Since it was founded in 2018, the Pere Bujosa Trio has played dozens of concerts in all kinds of venues, including the Alternatilla Jazz (Palma) and Ibiza Jazz festivals, and the Mercat de Música Viva in Vic. Pere Bujosa has released three solo albums – ‘Who’s Holland’ (self-released, 2017), ‘Wabi-Sabi’ (Fresh Sound New Talent, 2019) and ‘Arise’ (self-released, 2020) – all well received by the public and critics, to the point of winning an Enderrock Balears award in 2019. This year, he is presenting a new album, ‘Homemade’, recorded at home and self-produced, on which he combines his taste for polyrhythmic textures with the classic piano-trio formation, adding touches of electronica and free improvisation.
