Ricard Gili trumpet and voice, Oriol Romaní clarinet, Xavier Hinojosa drums, Queralt Camps doublebass, Federico Mazzanti keyboards.
Ricard Gili, director and indestructible leader of La Locomotora Negra for 50 years, co-leads this quintet with clarinetist Oriol Romaní, recognized for his work in groups such as Barelona Swing Serenaders, Hot Jazz Cats and his duets with the likes of Ignasi Terraza, August Tharrats and Elena Lasco. Gili and Romaní are undoubtedly two of the best-known musicians on the classic jazz scene in Catalonia. In this magnificent group, they perform music full of feeling and swing, and recreate, in their own way, a series of traditional jazz numbers from New Orleans, Chicago and New York in the ‘20s, ‘30s and ‘40s. Ricard Gili’s magnificent interpretations of the great Louis Armstrong stand out, and are bound to make an impression.
