Concierto del programa Festival Grec Ciutat.
Lucas Delgado piano y voz, Magalí Datzira contrabajo y voz, Bru Ferri sintetitzadores y voz, Asier Olabarrieta batería y voz.
Another result of the Barcelona Crea scholarships. The latest project – still unpublished – by the Barcelona pianist and composer Lucas Delgado, who takes a step forward in his career as a composer-lyricist and commits to the song just after having signed a second original album of instrumental music. He sees it as a central element of the project and for an integration of genres with an elegant staging as a quartet, with the song (as a composition of music and lyrics, but without neglecting the jazz track) the characteristic seal and thread host of the show.
With a commitment to song and the integration of genres, the composer’s new project makes the voice the central element of a proposal born from the “Barcelona creates” grants.
This pianist and composer from Barcelona has not yet recorded Songbook, a new work that will be the third after the last recorded album. If in that work he opted for instrumental music, now the composer and lyricist takes the opposite path and puts the human voice at the center of the new project he presents, winner of one of the “Barcelona crea” grants from the Institut de Cultura de Barcelona City Council. Magalí Datzira (also double bassist) and drummer Asier Olabarrieta, with his voice and his instruments, complete this proposal that integrates genres, has an elegant staging and, without losing sight of jazz, puts lyrics to the interpretations.
The jazz cave in Plaça Reial is added to the Grec Festival in Barcelona one more year with a selection of great artists who, like Lucas Delgado and his musicians, offer us a series of high-quality artistic projects, projects of contemporary creations that share a certain prominence of the voice and are accessible to all audiences. Some of the performances are held in the Jamboree’s new Room 3, which joins the other two that the venue has and which is intended to present live music, dance, small-format theater, cabaret, exhibitions, conferences and events of all kinds.
