Tsunamis had one of the most explosive musical debuts in Chile in 2004, being the first independent Chilean band to appear on MTV, becoming a leading exponent of the region’s new alternative sounds. Post-punk project Tsunamis, created by Berlin-based Chilean artist, composer and noisemaker Goli Gaete O’Ryan, invokes raw, noisy electric guitars in the style of The Velvet Underground, The Stooges, Sonic Youth and Spacemen 3. Powered by The entire history of rock and roll, including subtle compositions germinated from folk, drones and experimental-ambient music, Tsunamis’ 20+ year career is as diverse as the many collaborators Goli has worked with. Some of them include his lifelong friend and collaborator, guitarist Pancho Fernández for Tsunamis, Seba Ilic, drummer for Pánico, and the renowned Colombina Parra.

Working together with BYM Records since 2014, Tsunamis’ latest double LP, “7 Mares”, was released on Christmas 2020, an album that would win the 2022/’23 Pulsar Prize, the biggest award in Chilean music, at the Best Rock Artist category.

Today, with 7 LPs, dozens of tours and multiple audiovisual publications, Tsunamis is a benchmark of alternative and experimental rock that has come out of Latin America and has established a base in Europe.
