KATOM is a modern jazz group based in Switzerland, consisting of five members from Barcelona, Germany, Israel, Chile, and South Africa. The band features musicians Jordi Pallarés, Francesca Gaza, Nadav Erlich, Martín Theurillat, and James McClure; all of them with their own fluid musical identity. Their intimate music invites us to imagine a beautifully imperfect canvas with dissonant counterpoints of voice and trumpet, combined with progressive rock rhythms, improvisation, and sparks of electronic ambiance.
“Katom is nothing less than the future transposed to the present. Here, five young musical personalities from completely different backgrounds come together, fitting like puzzle pieces to form a perfect whole in the community.” – Wolf Kampman (Jazz Thing).
“A great fusion of voice and trumpet, a wonderful combination of jazz with carefully composed passages and plenty of glamorous improvisation characterize this special, beautiful, and spherical musical universe.” – Steff Rohrbach (Jazz’N’More).
