Winner of the prestigious Radio-Canada Jazz Revelation title for 2020-2021, Carl Mayotte has become one of the leading bassists and jazz musicians in Quebec and across Canada. He began his professional career at just 16 and went on to complete a master’s degree in jazz performance at McGill University in Montreal.
His talent has been recognized by top artists like Alain Caron and praised by specialized media such as Bass Magazine for his technical mastery and ability to fuse genres with creativity and ease.
His third album, Escale, won the Félix Award for Jazz Album of the Year in 2022, cementing his international profile. He now presents Carnaval, a vibrant and rhythm-filled work inspired by his passion for Brazilian and Latin music, seamlessly woven into his jazz universe with overflowing energy.
