A high-flying encounter between a jazz icon, Vincent Herring, and one of the most prominent representatives of Catalan jazz abroad, Joan Fort.
Based in Amsterdam, the Catalan guitarist has collaborated with artists such as Jeremy Pelt, Jordi Rossy, Benjamin Herman, Bill McHenry, Jasper Bloom, and Dick Oatts, with whom he has recorded two albums: Master St (2023) and Forward! (2024) as part of the co-led group The Dam Jawn. As for Herring, he was a member of Art Blakey’s Jazz Messengers and has performed with legendary figures such as Freddie Hubbard, Lionel Hampton, Horace Silver, Cedar Walton, and Nat Adderley, among others, while also establishing a remarkable solo career. They will join forces following Joan Fort’s recent stay in New York, where he played with the cream of the crop of the city’s jazz scene.
At Jamboree, they will present tracks from the guitarist’s trio’s debut album, So Far, So Good, set to release in January 2025 and certain to be one of the year’s standout records.
