Luiz Meira – From Bossa to Jazz
“Joyful, engaging, and with the sophistication of Brazilian music.” This is how Luiz Meira, one of Brazil’s most sought-after guitarists, defines the show he will bring to Spain in November 2025.
Brazilian instrumental music turns his concert into a true celebration: two hours where the audience sings and interacts with the artist, capturing the vibrant spirit of Brazil.
With his impressive right-hand technique and powerful rhythmic sense, Meira transforms the guitar into a unique voice. Over his career, he has performed with legendary artists such as Leny Andrade, Elza Soares, and Luiz Melodia, and spent 19 years touring internationally with Gal Costa, gracing major jazz festivals worldwide.
In From Bossa to Jazz, Meira performs pieces from his three albums alongside instrumental renditions of classics by Tom Jobim, Gilberto Gil, João Donato, Baden Powell, and Egberto Gismonti. For this occasion, he is joined by the brilliant Mexican pianist Mark Aanderud and Brazilian percussionist Zé Luiz Nascimento, two outstanding musicians based in Spain.
