Daniel Ferruz Quartet – “Un presente”
Daniel Ferruz Quartet is the personal project of Zaragoza-born pianist Daniel Ferruz — a creative space where his original compositions meet the shared aesthetic vision of his bandmates: Joan Mas on saxophone, David Mengual on double bass, and Adrià Claramunt on drums.
After eight years of performing together, the group is now presenting its third album, Un presente, released in January 2025 under the Barcelona-based label UnderPool. The album features twelve new original compositions that celebrate the urgency of the present moment — both in life and in art — offering the listener a gift of emotion, sensitivity, and tenderness.
The quartet’s sound is rooted in experimentation, drawing from both jazz traditions and European classical music, resulting in a refined and evocative sonic landscape full of depth and nuance.
