Compota de Manana — The Latin avant-garde that sets every stage on fire
Compota de Manana stands as one of the most groundbreaking and forward-moving acts in today’s Latin music scene. They’re not just a band —they’re an artistic movement, where creativity, aesthetics and audiovisual art merge with a sound that’s bold, playful, innovative and unmistakably their own.
Their debut album La Alternatimba (2018) was a sensation. Soon after, they toured across Spain and Europe, performing at major festivals such as Couleur Café, Toros y Salsa de Dax, FIC in Orange, and the Black Music festival Say It Loud, while selling out iconic venues like Café Berlín, Sala Villanos and Sala Apolo. International press —including Le Monde and El Periódico— praised their originality, power and artistic freedom.
After this whirlwind success, the band paused while Erik Castillo joined Nathy Peluso’s touring band, performing around the globe in legendary festivals: Coachella, Quilmes Rock, Movistar Arena, WiZink Center, Sónar, Ceremonia, and more. An experience that sharpened his artistry and fueled his lifelong project: Compota de Manana.
During that time, the band kept creating, releasing singles with artists like Original Elías, Alexander Abreu and Big Lois, always paired with visually striking music videos produced by Castillo and Aarón Barreiro (Lecuala Films). In 2023, they released two Live Videos, revealing the raw power of their live sound with no tricks attached.
Between 2024 and 2025, new singles —El Vampiro, El Caldero, ¿Loco de qué?, Cuestión de tiempo— paved the way for their new album: Cuestión de Tiempo. A massive work featuring 16 tracks, entirely composed and produced by the band, with stellar collaborations such as Mayito Rivera, Alexander Abreu, El Niño y la Verdad and Telmary Díaz.
The album’s sound is monumental: mixed in Havana by Orestes Águila (Latin Grammy winner) and Javier Raez (Latin Grammy nominee), and mastered in Miami by Germán Landaeta, one of the leading figures of modern Latin sound.
Compota de Manana arrives at the festival with unstoppable force. Expect rhythm, creativity, dance, and pure artistic explosion.
In the end, everything comes down to time. Cuestión de Tiempo.
