The JT4, led by saxophonist Jean Toussaint (formerly of Art Blakey & The Jazz Messengers), arrives with a powerful and refined sound. Alongside him, Antonio Mazzei on piano, Juan Pablo Balcazar on double bass, and the legendary David Xirgu on drums form a quartet that combines technical virtuosity with a deeply soulful musical expression.
The group primarily performs Toussaint’s original compositions, featuring strong melodies and rich harmonies designed to evoke positive emotions in the listener, alongside unique reinterpretations of jazz classics. Their music captures the spirit of great masters such as John Coltrane, Wayne Shorter, Sonny Rollins, Miles Davis, Thelonious Monk, and Art Blakey, but with a fresh perspective inspired by our time and experiences.
