Pablo Martín Trio presents “The Standard Us”
Formed in Barcelona in 2019 and featuring Pablo Martín, Héctor Tejedo, and Kike Pérez, the group explores hard bop and contemporary jazz through original compositions and arrangements. With more than 50 concerts across Spain, France, and Italy, the trio has received the Talent Award 2020, was a finalist at Italy’s Fara Jazz Award, and has released two albums: State of the Trio (2020) and Forward (UnderPool, 2023), the latter nominated for the Enderrock and MIN Awards.
Their new release, The Standard Us (Fresh Sound New Talent), offers a fresh reinterpretation of jazz standards such as I Could Write a Book, You Do Something to Me, and Body and Soul, alongside original compositions that explore the saxophone, drums, and double bass trio format.
The live performance delivers a fresh and energetic show, balancing jazz tradition with a contemporary edge.
