Three of the best Cuban musicians on the Madrid scene come to the Plaça Reial club with a new line-up they call Trío Mejunje. For the first time, these three jazz masters get together to invite us on a colourful journey, full of energy, dancing and improvisation, devoted to their native city: Santa Clara. Mejunje is the name of a well-known cultural centre in the Cuban city. It is also a commitment to mixing sounds and colours from jazz, classic Cuban music, the Afro-Cuban tradition and Caribbean rhythms in a show that can’t fail to make an impression. Brínguez, Elizarde and Olivera have worked with jazz masters of the calibre of Javier Colina, Chucho Valdés, Chano Domínguez, David Murray, Paquito D’Rivera and Irakere, among others, as well as taking part in festivals like Montreux, Marciac, Vienne, Barcelona, Vitòria and Blue Note in New York.
