Pianist Maria Lilia Cano, born in Habana and resident of Barcelona, is a renowned Cuban music player trained in the conservatories of Amadeo Roldán in Habana and at El Liceo in Barcelona. Carlos Caro, on the other hand, is an institution in the traditional Cuban scene of Barcelona, and has been since 1997 when he formed the group Sabor Cubano, inspired by the traditional “charangas” of the Caribbean island.
Maria Lilia Cano and Carlos Caro will return to the Jamboree to present a selection of Cuban songs for piano written by classic Cuban composers like Ignacio Cervantes, Manuel Saumell, Ernesto Lecuona and José María Vitier; an authentic guided tour through different moments in the rich history of Cuban music.
