With an ingenious formula that mixes classical and contemporary influences, the group Mamas Gun has achieved millions of downloads of their songs worldwide and accolades in media such as the Sunday Times, Billboard, The Guardian, La Vanguardia, Radio 3 and Ruta 66. Some of this London band’s songs have reached the Top 10 of the charts. Mamas Gun have toured worldwide, performing at the Billboard Music Awards and festivals such as Womad and Java Jazz. At the Jamboree, they played in 2019 to present Golden Days, considered a “definitive masterpiece,” which commemorated their ten years in the “vanguard of soul”. Mamas Gun returns to Barcelona as part of the Jazztrònica XS programme and with a new album out, Cure the Jones, an album inspired by the golden age of soul, the 1970s, with nods to Bill Withers and Marvin Gaye, but with a clear identity of its own. Authentic, uncompromising soul in the Plaça Reial basement.
