The flautist Juanjo Saiz, leader of the Pindio quartet and accompanist of Baldo Martínez, among others; the percussionist Pedro Terán, also a composer and teacher of opera; and the bassist Sergio di Finizio, who has worked with outstanding flamenco artists, are Dr Bobô, one of the most evocative groups on the Iberian peninsula avantgarde jazz scene. Saiz, Terán and di Finizio offer us a dreamlike journey based on subtlety, exploration of timbre, polyrhythms, high-voltage energy and a set of influences including everything from references from the classical music of the 20th century to masters of heterodox jazz. This year, the prestigious Karonte label will release their first album, but first we will hear the premiere at the Jamboree.
