‘Elfrieda’ is the third album of the Luismi Segurado Trío for the label Fresh Sound New Talent. The musician from Salamanca is inspired by the brilliant Mary Lou Williams, one of the most influential pianists of her time, with an extensive and diverse work. All of Segurado’s compositions have as their starting point the music and playing style of Mary Lou Williams. His is a unique way of composing and interpreting that extends to other great pianists in the history of jazz. He is also accompanied by two musicians who, like him, are top notch: the veteran Masa Kamaguchi, on double bass, and Santi Colomer, on drums.
