SUMMARY:GMS Studios Live
DESCRIPTION:Martin Greiner drums · Yazmin Alvarez vocal loops · Mars vocals · Da Fabi vocals & guitar · electric bass \nOpening band: Mägua \nGMS presents a night where live music transcends the stage to become a meeting point\, momentum\, and movement. Led by Barcelona-based producer\, guitarist\, and artist Da Fabi\, the evening brings together different voices and sensibilities\, building bridges between scenes\, territories\, and forms of expression. \nThe night opens with Mägua\, the project of Andrea Toledo\, an artist from Tenerife who began studying cello at a very young age and who is now a composer and producer of her own music. Her project was born from the need to express what often cannot be said with words\, offering an intimate and honest proposal where every sound and every lyric has a purpose. \nNext\, Da Fabi presents a visceral and immersive live performance where experimentation and improvisation interact with textured electric guitars\, intense grooves\, and lo-fi atmospheres. \nThe show also features MARSS\, a rapper born in London with Nigerian roots\, who brings a powerful sonic fusion and a direct connection with the UK’s artistic scene. \nA meeting of energies and visions that transforms the night into a vibrant musical experience. \nStanding concert.

SUMMARY:Jota P Quinteto - MASiMAS FESTIVAL 2026
DESCRIPTION:Joao Paulo (Jota P) saxophone & flute · Luis Gustavo drums · Tom Cykman electric guitar · Luiz Gabriel trumpet · Gabriel Biel electric bass \nJota P — Brazilian Saxophone and the Unforgettable Legacy of Hermeto \nJota P is one of the most distinctive saxophonists in the contemporary Brazilian scene. A key member of Hermeto Pascoal’s group\, with whom he won two Latin Grammys and performed in over twenty countries\, his music combines high-level technique with uncommon expressive freedom\, always grounded in rhythm and experimentation. \nWith his own quintet\, Jota P develops a personal language that crosses jazz with Brazilian and South American rhythms\, moving away from predictable formulas. He has worked with essential figures such as Airto Moreira\, Flora Purim\, Arthur Verocai\, Filó Machado\, Michael Pipoquinha\, Banda Black Rio\, Raul de Souza\, and Maurício Einhorn\, establishing a remarkable career. \nHis albums feature special collaborations with Héctor Costita\, Gabriel Grossi\, and Hermeto Pascoal himself\, and are noted for their organic sound\, complex rhythms\, and a very defined identity. About Hermeto\, Jota P expresses it clearly: “I think his music is immortal and timeless. Musicians still haven’t truly discovered his music because they are used to the jazz aesthetic of ‘theme–improvisation–theme\,’ whereas Hermeto’s music requires more practice because it is more difficult. Here in Brazil\, few musicians delve deeply into his work\, and I think that’s the reason.” \nThis concert includes a tribute to Hermeto Pascoal\, on the anniversary of his passing\, with performances of previously unrecorded compositions that highlight the creative and spiritual dimension of his legacy. The influence goes beyond music: “[Thanks to Hermeto]\, I learned that we must have our own personality\, feel free in music\, that ‘bad music’ doesn’t exist\, and we must believe in our ideas. Spiritually\, Hermeto was always one step ahead; he had an understanding of spirituality that I cannot explain\, but that I continue to feel with me every day.” \nWhy shouldn’t you miss him?Because Jota P embodies the living heritage of Hermeto Pascoal brought into the present: demanding\, free\, and deeply human music\, where virtuosity serves exploration and emotion.

SUMMARY:Pahua - MASiMAS FESTIVAL 2026
DESCRIPTION:Pahua — Latin electronic folk\, roots and contemporary exploration \nPahua is the project of Mexican singer\, songwriter and DJ Paulina Sotomayor\, a proposal that blends Latin American rhythms with alternative electronic music from an intimate and contemporary perspective. Her sonic universe connects femininity\, nature and self-discovery\, with references that resonate with artists such as Nidia Góngora\, Mitú or YoSoyMatt\, yet shaped by a distinct identity of her own. \nTrained in singing from an early age and surrounded by popular and lyrical songs in Purépecha and Náhuatl\, Pahua expanded her musical language by learning percussion and drums. She later co-founded the project Sotomayor with her brother\, touring across Mexico\, the United States and Latin America\, consolidating a rhythmic and stage foundation that now runs through her solo work. \nHer music moves between synthesizers\, organic sounds and lyrically rich vocals\, exploring Latin and Afro-Latin rhythms\, alternative beats and electronic textures. With over 20 million accumulated streams\, she has been selected as a Spotify EQUAL Mexico ambassador\, was part of Amazon Music’s ROMPE program\, and participated in Arrullos Mexicanos Vol. 1 by Apple Music\, nominated for a Latin Grammy. Her sound has also reached video games\, series and international advertising campaigns. \nIn her latest work\, Cerca del Lugar\, Pahua introduces a more reflective and socially aware dimension. Speaking about the song “Silencio\,” she explains: “For me it’s a statement: sometimes we don’t have to stay silent about certain things\, and it’s important to know how to express the needs we have as human beings\, on a psychological and emotional level.” This sensitivity runs through her entire project\, which\, as she summarizes\, is born from an organic vision: “I always visualize everything in a very natural way\, and that can also be imagined in the music.” \nWhy shouldn’t you miss her?Because Pahua represents a new voice in Latin electronic folk: honest\, sensorial and deeply connected to her roots\, capable of transforming tradition into a contemporary language that is danceable and emotionally powerful.

SUMMARY:Seun Kuti & Egypt80 – MASiMAS FESTIVAL 2026
DESCRIPTION:Seun Kuti & Egypt 80 — Committed Afrobeat and a Pan-African Legacy\nSeun Kuti is one of the most magnetic presences in contemporary African music: a musician\, singer\, composer\, and Pan-African activist with a vibrant\, high-energy live show. The youngest son of Afrobeat pioneer Fela Kuti\, he has dedicated his life to preserving (and expanding) a political and musical legacy driven not by nostalgia\, but by urgency. A continually evolving saxophonist and percussionist\, he joined the band Egypt 80 before the age of 12. \nIn 1997\, following Fela’s death and in accordance with his wishes\, Seun took over the leadership of Egypt 80\, a role he still holds today. His social commitment is inseparable from the stage: he has taken part in campaigns such as #OccupyNigeria and #EndSARS\, and has revived the Movement of the People (M.O.P.)\, the party founded by his father in 1979 and soon after repressed by the military government. \nHis discography with Egypt 80 traces this evolution: Many Things (2008)\, From Africa with Fury: Rise (2011)\, co-produced by Brian Eno and John Reynolds\, A Long Way Beginning (2014)\, and Black Times (2018)\, Grammy-nominated and featuring Carlos Santana. At the same time\, Seun has built global alliances: African Dreams (2022) with Black Thought; collaborations on Janelle Monáe’s The Age of Pleasure (2023) on “Float” and “Knows Better”; and crossovers with Talib Kweli and Madlib on Liberation 2\, as well as a new version of “Bad Man Lighter” with Black Thought and Vic Mensa. He sums it up clearly: “The world has become one big commercial village […] There are artists who just copy and paste […] But there are also young people everywhere making exciting music.” \nHis latest album is Heavier Yet (Lays The Crownless Head) (2024)\, released by Record Kicks six years after Black Times. Executive-produced by Lenny Kravitz and with artistic production by Sodi Marciszewer (Fela’s original engineer)\, it features guests such as Damian Marley and Sampa The Great. Singles like “DEY” (feat. Damian Marley\, presented at the Grammys for Best African Music Performance)\, “T.O.P.” and “Stand Well Well” reinforce an Afrobeat that is rooted\, sharp\, and contemporary. As Seun says: “The album was written for the consciousness of the working class […] Since big corporations have taken over music\, many people have felt insecure or ‘less than’. My album is the opposite of that materialism.” In 2025\, the deluxe edition adds collaborations with De La Soul\, Adi Oasis\, Kamasi Washington\, Don Letts\, Alborosie\, and more. \nWhy you can’t miss it: because Seun Kuti & Egypt 80 bring Afrobeat to its highest musical and political expression—message\, community\, and an energy that is instantly contagious. \nJustice Kunle bass player · Mario Kevin Jean & Marc Orsinet drummer · Fabrice Edouard Fila tenor sax · Anis Mohammed Cherif Benhallak guitarist · Valentin Pellet trumpet · Edidiong Blessing Eshiet dancer and backing vocals · Nicolas Sakelario baritone · Oluwaseun Anikulapo Kuti singer\, keys\, sax\, lead vocals \nStanding concert.

SUMMARY:Manuel Alvarez Trio - MASiMAS FESTIVAL 2026
DESCRIPTION:Manuel Alvarez double bass · Ignasi Terraza piano · Mark Taylor drums \nManuel Álvarez Trio — Standards\, Jazz\, and a Unique Voice \nAfter a long career as a sideman\, in What We Are Here For\, Manuel Álvarez explores his most personal side through the standards that have shaped his training and his way of understanding jazz. The influence of figures such as Monty Alexander\, Ray Brown\, Oscar Peterson\, Christian McBride\, Stanley Clarke\, Paul Chambers\, and Niels-Henning Ørsted Pedersen runs through the repertoire\, arrangements\, and approach of the trio\, with a clear focus on tradition and groove. \nThe program is built around classics like You’d Be So Nice to Come Home To\, Never Let Me Go\, Moonlight in Vermont\, My Foolish Heart\, My One and Only Love\, and What Am I Here For?\, with a special nod to the centennials of Oscar Peterson and Ray Brown\, celebrated in 2025 and 2026\, incorporating compositions by these two jazz giants. \nBorn in Barcelona in 1967\, Manuel Álvarez began his musical journey as a self-taught musician before completing his training at the Taller de Músics and graduating from ESMUC. Although he has explored styles such as flamenco\, Latin music\, folk\, and dance music\, jazz has always been the central axis of his career\, with his double bass learning shaped by listening\, experience\, and occasional lessons with masters like Pierre Boussaguet and Javier Colina. \nHis career includes key stages in the Barcelona Jazz Orquestra and Ignasi Terraza’s trio\, with international tours and recordings alongside artists such as Nicholas Payton\, Phil Woods\, Benny Golson\, and Jesse Davis. In this project as a bandleader\, Álvarez emphasizes the essential roots of the language he performs: “Jazz wouldn’t exist without the blues. First came the blues\, then jazz\, and then rock\,” an idea that permeates his sound and his understanding of music. \nWhy shouldn’t you miss it?Because What We Are Here For is a declaration of love for classic jazz through experience and honesty: standards played with respect and a trio that radiates shared enjoyment.

SUMMARY:Los buenos valedores
DESCRIPTION:Kevin Sabariego vocals and electric guitar · Carlos Oliva vocals and flamenco guitar · Héctor Martín electric guitar · Marc Trías percussion \nFlamenco guitar meets Latin guitar and also welcomes American guitar to renew the concept of the romantic song trio\, a beloved formation from the mid-20th century. \nThe band embraces an intimate\, small-format approach\, celebrating beautiful melodies and defending the guitar as a musical companion. Their repertoire revisits genres that have given voice to stories of love and heartbreak over the decades: bolero\, rumba\, cha-cha-cha\, swing\, rancheras and cuplés\, brought to present-day Barcelona with a direct and honest style. \nIn 2023 they released their first LP\, Alma Podrida\, warmly received by critics and featured on Radio 3 (RNE)\, launching a tour across the local and national circuit and filling intimate venues. \nIn 2025 they present their second project\, Apuntes para una luna de miel\, a 10’’ vinyl EP presented in Mexico.

SUMMARY:Bass Monkeys - MASiMAS FESTIVAL 2026
DESCRIPTION:Alberto Anguzza · Antonio Anguzza · Carollo Tommaso · Marco Caterina · Francesco Bianco  · Giulio Cernigliaro  · Samuele Scalise \nThe MASiMAS Festival 2026 presents Bass Monkeys\, a musical collective that reinterprets the tradition of Sicilian wind bands through a contemporary and radically energetic lens. Their approach draws on the popular legacy of southern Italy and projects it into the present\, combining acoustic sounds with an intense stage presence and a live performance conceived as a physical\, collective experience. \nBass Monkeys works with the imagery of traditional brass bands\, transferring their rhythms\, timbres\, and dynamics to a modern context where repetition\, electronics\, and festive drive coexist. The result is a hybrid language that preserves the communal and ceremonial character of Sicilian folk music while recontextualizing it with expansive sonic force and a distinctly contemporary attitude. \nOn the Jamboree stage\, the group offers a high-intensity concert where groove\, rhythmic energy\, and constant musical dialogue create a continuous flow that invites movement and audience participation. More than a historical reinterpretation\, Bass Monkeys presents a living celebration of tradition as a transforming entity\, capable of connecting past and present without losing its identity. \nWhy you shouldn’t miss it: because it’s a rare opportunity to experience a centuries-old tradition through the body and energy of live performance\, in an explosive concert where Sicilian folk music is reinvented as a contemporary\, contagious experience.
