DESCRIPTION:Finn Genockey Quartet: Tacet Trust\nThe young drummer\, pianist\, composer and leader Finn Genockey arrives at the Jamboree presenting Tacet Trust\, his first album in quartet format\, released by the prestigious label Fresh Sound New Talent and acclaimed by international critics\, especially in the United Kingdom. \nConsidered by several critics as one of the most outstanding debuts in recent contemporary jazz\, Tacet Trust reveals the creativity of four young and extraordinary musicians who build a rich\, courageous and deeply communicative sound universe. The music flows with a remarkable lyrical sensitivity\, combining careful structures with spaces open to improvisation and constant interaction. \nGenockey stands out for his ability to listen and engage in musical dialogue\, leading the group from an expressive and subtle drumming\, and contributing a mature artistic vision that clearly points towards the future of European jazz. SUMMARY:Julius Rodriguez - MASiMAS FESTIVAL 2026
DESCRIPTION:Julius Rodriguez — an Established Jazz Rising Star \nBrandon Woody trumpet · Julius Rodriguez leader\, piano\, keyboards · Willie Barthell drums · Max Gerl bass \nJulius Rodriguez is one of those musicians who seems to be everywhere at once: at the piano in a packed jazz club\, switching instruments effortlessly on social media\, or on the stage of a major festival\, either solo or accompanying like-minded artists. Born in New York and based in Los Angeles\, he is a multi-instrumentalist\, composer\, and producer\, standing out for his boundless energy and creativity that defies any fixed label. \nHis music moves between jazz and R&B\, incorporating soul\, hip hop\, and electronic elements\, reflecting an open and contemporary vision of the jazz language. After thousands of hours of practice and hundreds of concerts\, he has crafted a personal\, fluid sound in which tradition coexists with a clearly modern sensibility. \nRodriguez has established himself as a highly sought-after collaborator\, working with artists such as Wynton Marsalis\, Kurt Elling\, Nick Hakim\, and Meshell Ndegeocello\, whether on piano\, drums\, synthesizers\, or bass. In 2024\, he starred in a Tiny Desk Concert for NPR Music\, a format that confirmed his ability to concentrate all his creative intensity into a close and intimate space. \nSpeaking to Everything Jazz\, Julius Rodriguez cites Chick Corea as a decisive influence: “When I saw the last Return to Forever concert in 2008\, my vision of jazz completely changed. The sound of electric guitar\, bass\, drums\, keyboards\, and synthesizers was striking. I’ve always loved jazz and rock\, but I never thought they could go together. For jazz to remain what it is\, we have to be open to other musics\, cultures\, and technologies.” \nWhy you shouldn’t miss him?Because Julius Rodriguez embodies a new way of understanding jazz: open\, hybrid\, and constantly evolving\, with the intensity and creative freedom of one of the most representative voices of his generation.

SUMMARY:Joan Fort New York Quintet feat. Grant Stewart & Michael Weiss (USA) - MASiMAS FESTIVAL 2026
DESCRIPTION:Grant Stewart tenor sax · Joan Fort guitar · Michael Weiss piano · Philip Lewin double bass · David Puime drums \nJoan Fort — Contemporary Jazz\, Straight-Ahead\, New York Heritage \n‘Hangin’ In’ is Joan Fort’s second album as a bandleader and works as a personal narrative: that of a musician from a small town who\, fascinated by jazz history\, followed its echoes to New York and there found a community of musicians embodying the tradition from within. It’s not just a record of maturity\, but the result of persistence and the decision to keep going when giving up seemed like the easiest option. \nThe album brings together nine tracks\, six of them original compositions\, born from the experience of living and training abroad. Distance\, uncertainty\, daily effort\, and the small victories that accompany a young emerging artist are transformed here into music. “Hangin’ In” represents both the struggle and the reward\, and the pieces trace this journey with honesty and narrative depth. \nTo shape this vision\, Fort surrounds himself with a quartet deeply connected to the New York jazz lineage: Grant Stewart on tenor sax\, Michael Weiss on piano\, Philip Lewin on double bass\, and David Puime on drums. Musicians with solid careers alongside major figures of the genre\, bringing historical weight and unquestionable musical authority. \nThe result is a sound that balances intimacy and strength: straight-ahead and hard-bop jazz infused with swing\, rooted in tradition\, yet filtered through Fort’s personal voice as a composer and guitarist. ‘Hangin’ In’ looks to the past with respect while moving forward decisively toward its own identity. \nWhy shouldn’t you miss it? \nBecause this project naturally connects life experience and jazz heritage\, showing how tradition stays alive when it passes through the hands of a new generation with something to say.

SUMMARY:GHOST-NOTE - MASiMAS FESTIVAL 2026
DESCRIPTION:Ghost-Note — Expansive funk and unstoppable rhythm \nRobert “Sput” Searight drums · Dominique Taplin keyboards · Justin McKinney bass · Peter Knudsen guitar · Mackenzie Green vocals · Jonathan Mones saxophone and flute · Daniel Wytanis trombone \nGhost-Note is a sonic explosion led by the Snarky Puppy percussion duo Robert “Sput” Searight and Nate Werth\, joined by a lineup of top-tier musicians who have worked with Prince\, Snoop Dogg\, Erykah Badu\, Herbie Hancock\, Kendrick Lamar\, Marcus Miller\, Toto\, and Justin Timberlake. Their sound is built on the foundations of James Brown–style funk and Sly & The Family Stone\, incorporating afrobeat\, hip-hop\, psychedelia\, and global folk traditions into a fresh\, contemporary sound. \nSince their formation in 2015\, the band has showcased an unmistakable rhythmic approach. Their albums Fortified (2015) and Swagism (2018) combine irresistible grooves with high-level collaborations (Kamasi Washington\, Karl Denson\, Bobby Sparks\, Nigel Hall\, among others)\, demonstrating their ability to fuse styles and textures without losing energy or coherence. As the band members themselves point out: “Most of the guys in Ghost-Note are also composers and play multiple instruments\, so it’s a band of very talented people who enjoy creating and having fun with music. When we go into the studio to record\, all of that comes through in the final result.” \nLive\, Ghost-Note unleashes its full magic: energetic\, straight-ahead shows focused on danceable grooves and contagious energy\, leaving any pretension behind and connecting immediately with the audience. Their music feels immediate and fun\, inviting listeners both to dance and to surrender to the group’s collective creativity. \nThe band has taken its sound around the world\, performing across the United States\, Europe\, Australia\, New Zealand\, Canada\, and Japan\, and appearing at high-profile festivals\, cementing a unique style where improvisation and fun go hand in hand with musical excellence. \nWhy shouldn’t you miss it? \nBecause Ghost-Note turns every concert into an unstoppable rhythmic journey: funk\, groove\, and creativity in their purest form\, with an intensity that can’t be replicated on a screen — it has to be experienced live. \nStanding concert.

In statements to In & Out Jazz\, Sambeat noted that he prefers the music to “speak for itself\,” allowing the nuances to follow naturally in the development of each piece\, without resorting to radically expressionist gestures\, always seeking naturalness. \nThe concert repertoire includes new compositions by Sambeat himself\, reinterpreted standards\, and pieces with Latin influences\, offering a performance where the technique\, sensitivity\, and experience of all the musicians converge to create unique moments of improvisation and expression. \nWhy shouldn’t you miss it? \nBecause this quintet combines virtuosity\, tradition\, and freshness\, led by one of Europe’s great saxophonists\, and offers a musical journey that crosses styles and emotions\, with an enveloping\, deep\, and vibrant sound. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe Global Music Foundation presents the GMF Barcelona Jazz Workshop 2026\, a musical celebration combining jazz\, blues\, and Latin music in concerts\, workshops\, and late-night sessions with world-class artists.  \nFor more information: https://jamboreejazz.com/en/gmf-barcelona-26/
