SUMMARY:Benjamin Herman trio ft Tomoaki Baba
DESCRIPTION:Benjamin Herman alto sax · Jimmi Hueting drums · Thomas Pol doublebass · Tomoaki Baba tenor sax \nInspired by Tokyo’s hyper-eclectic underground scene\, jazz saxophonist Benjamin Herman once again expands the boundaries of his musical universe with his new project The Tokyo Sessions. Together with Thomas Pol (double bass) and Jimmi Jo Hueting (drums)\, he creates a sonic landscape where acoustic jazz merges with driving electronics and samples. \nThe Tokyo Sessions was recorded in April 2025 at the iconic Studio Dede in Tokyo\, under the direction of engineer Akihito Yoshikawa. For these sessions\, Herman invited some of Japan’s most respected musicians\, including noise legend Otomo Yoshihide (guitar)\, tenor saxophonist Tomoaki Baba and trumpeter Shinpei Ruike. The album also features traditional Japanese wind instruments performed by Akihito Obama (shakuhachi) and Ko Ishikawa (shō). \nBack in the Netherlands\, Herman further developed the recordings with producer Jimmi Jo Hueting\, shaping them into a full-length album blending jazz\, no wave and free improvisation. A tribute to Japan’s multifaceted musical culture\, from underground jazz clubs to anime soundtracks and Japanese salon music. \nFor the tour presenting the new album\, the trio will be joined by special guest Tomoaki Baba\, one of Japan’s leading contemporary jazz saxophonists\, known for his album Electric Rider (Universal Music\, 2024) and for his contribution to the soundtrack of the animated film Blue Giant.

SUMMARY:Jonathan Stout Quintet
DESCRIPTION:Jonathan Stout guitar · Enric Peidro tenor sax · Joel Gonzalez piano · Xavi Hinojosa drums · Ignasi Gonzalez double bass \nFor fans of Classic Jazz and Swing\, the name Jonathan Stout needs no introduction. The Californian guitarist is a key figure in the international swing scene and enjoys a well-deserved reputation as a soloist\, both leading his mid- and small-format groups\, as well as his own Big Band\, for which he is also composer and arranger\, and the group The Campus Five\, with whom he is a regular guest at top international jazz festivals. \nSpecializing in the guitar style popularized by the great Charlie Christian\, he is one of the few specialists worldwide who masters this style alongside the “block-chord solos” techniques popularized by Alan Reuss and George Van Eps\, earning recognition as one of the leading experts on the international scene. This expertise has led him to teach at some of the most important guitar gatherings worldwide\, alongside soloists like Howard Alden and Matt Munisteri\, among many others. \nAs a bandleader\, he has an extensive discography and a strong online presence\, with millions of streams on Spotify\, YouTube\, and nearly 25\,000 followers on Instagram. Beyond his work as a leader\, he has performed and recorded as a sideman with well-known North American ensembles such as Michael Gamble and the Rhythm Serenaders\, Casey McGuill\, and Dean Mora. \nIn short\, Jonathan Stout commands the classic jazz and swing guitar scene with authority\, as evidenced by his numerous performances not only across the United States but also with frequent visits to Asia and Europe\, where his impeccable technique and virtuosity have earned him the recognition he enjoys today.

SUMMARY:Francesco Bearzatti Trio
DESCRIPTION:Francesco Bearzatti saxo · Federico Casagrande guitar · Jens Duppe drums \nFrancesco Bearzatti‘s new trio brings together three titans of the contemporary European jazz scene\, creating a powerhouse ensemble that balances raw energy with sophisticated storytelling. \nLed by the eclectic and visionary Francesco Bearzatti on saxophone\, the group features the refined\, atmospheric guitar work of Federico Casagrande and the inventive\, propulsive drumming of Jens Duppe. Together\, they navigate a sonic landscape where Italian lyricism meets international avant-garde sensibilities. \nThe band’s repertoire is a masterclass in versatility\, seamlessly blending tradition with modern exploration: The trio breathes new life into the jazz standards\, deconstructing classic melodies with bold improvisations and unexpected rhythmic twists. A core focus of the project is their original material—cinematic\, edgy\, and deeply evocative pieces that showcase the unique musical identity of each member. \nExpect a high-wire act of collective improvisation\, where the absence of a bass player opens up vast harmonic spaces for the guitar and sax to intertwine. \nFrom fiery\, high-octane uptempo tracks to intimate\, minimalist ballads\, this trio promises a performance that is as unpredictable as it is technically brilliant.

SUMMARY:Albert Cirera & Tres Tambors - Festival de Jazz de Barcelona
DESCRIPTION:Albert Cirera Jimenez · Roger Mas Gimenez · Oscar Domenech Miras · Marko Jorma Lohikari \nSaxophonist from Igualada\, Albert Cirera is an alchemist of combinations. In a duo with rhythm master Ramon Prats in Duot; in a sextet with Kamarilla; solo in Cirerot; and in a quartet format with Tres Tambors\, featuring Marco Mezquida (piano)\, Marko Lohikari (double bass)\, and Óscar Doménech (drums). His jazz walks the edges of the avant-garde\, exploring new textures and colors. He has demonstrated this masterfully on authorial albums such as Els Encants (Fresh Sound Records\, 2012) and\, especially\, Suite salada (Underpool\, 2017)\, where the spirit of 1970s Keith Jarrett is infused with Mediterranean landscapes. With his new project Orangina (Underpool\, 2025)\, the music of this relentless quartet —with Roger Mas as a luxury substitute in live performances— aims to stir the audience’s emotions and take them on a journey through a valley of sounds to unexplored shores.

SUMMARY:Lluís Coloma & Blue Lou Marini
DESCRIPTION:Lluís Coloma piano · “Blue Lou” Marini tenor sax · Kid Carlos guitar · Manolo Germán double bass · Arnau Julià drums \nLluís Coloma —Barcelona-born pianist and internationally recognized composer—\, accompanied by his tight and powerful band\, in collaboration with the great ‘Blue Lou’ Marini —saxophonist of the Blues Brothers\, Blood\, Sweat and Tears\, and James Taylor\, among many others—\, presents his new project\, where they creatively blend original compositions with classics like Mona Lisa and Rockin’ Robin. Energy\, groove\, and thrilling rhythms in an album that sounds with the force of a live performance and\, naturally\, draws from the rich heritage of Blues\, Jazz\, and Boogie Woogie… with an open\, contemporary perspective enriched by the mastery of each musician. \nIn September 2022\, Walt Fowler —trumpeter for James Taylor— and Lou Marini were on vacation in Spain and coincided with James Taylor\, who was touring in Madrid. James called Lou asking for suggestions for his free evening. Lou told him to go to Café Central to listen to his friend Lluís Coloma and his band. James went with Steve Gadd\, and Walt and Lou brought their instruments. Coloma’s band sounded incredible. James and Steve loved it and stayed all night. \nFrom that magical night\, Lou and Lluís performed together at the Central in autumn 2023\, with sold-out shows every night. This is where the current project began\, developed between New York and Madrid\, and recorded in October 2024 at Infinity Studios in Madrid\, with Arnau Julià on drums\, Manolo Germán on double bass\, and the great Sevillian guitarist Kid Carlos\, completing the formidable band.

Miles invited him to one of his concerts at the famous Lighthouse jazz club in California. The band featured Cannonball Adderley\, John Coltrane\, Bill Evans\, Paul Chambers\, and Jimmy Cobb. The experience changed Eddie’s life. \nThe rest is history—and now\, around 60 years later\, we are fortunate to welcome him back to Jamboree for a very special night.

Romero— nothing sounds like María Marín. That brilliance must be recognized when you look toward the horizon. There is no posturing here\, no reliance on family lineages\, no false claims to authenticity. What there is\, is flamenco. Everything that has made flamenco great. Flamenco\, before and after flamenco.”

SUMMARY:Cicle John Coltrane i Miles Davis: Eddie Henderson Quartet – Festival de Jazz de Barcelona
DESCRIPTION:Happy Anniversary\, John Coltrane and Miles Davis\nThe year 2026 marks the centenary of the birth of two of the most important musicians and innovators in jazz history. We have organized two short concert series to pay tribute to them and to the timeless music they left behind\, which remains very much alive through their legacy. \nThe musicians participating in this series maintain a direct or indirect connection with these figures\, whether through friendship\, having shared the stage\, or in some cases\, having been part of their bands. Each concert offers a different approach: depending on the project\, the repertoire focuses on the universe of John Coltrane or Miles Davis\, or on their influence through other composers associated with their groups. \nEddie Henderson\nEddie Henderson trumpet · Matyas Gayer piano · Arnie Somogyi bass · Stephen Keogh drums \nEddie Henderson\, American trumpeter and Grammy Award winner\, is a living legend of jazz. A versatile and innovative musician\, his career spans more than six decades\, leaving an indelible mark on the history of the genre through his unique style and instrumental virtuosity. \nMiles Davis was a family friend and often stayed at their home. Eddie’s stepfather was Miles’s personal physician. Eddie met Miles as a teenager while studying classical trumpet.

SUMMARY:TRILOG
DESCRIPTION:Melón Jimenez flamenco guitar & vocals · Lara Wong flutes & bansuri · Chaitanya Natu percussion & tabla \nTRILOG is where flamenco\, jazz and Hindustani music meet in a spontaneous and vibrant conversation. \nFormed by flautist and bansuri player Lara Wong\, guitarist Melón Jiménez and tabla percussionist Chaitanya Natu\, the trio traces the nomadic path of flamenco from India to the Mediterranean\, building cultural bridges through improvisation and tradition. \nThe group was founded in Spain in 2025\, when three artists from Canada\, Spain and India came together driven by a shared fascination for the intertwined roots of flamenco and Indian music. Lara Wong is a pioneer in introducing the Indian bamboo flute (bansuri) into flamenco and was awarded Best Flamenco Instrumentalist at the prestigious Festival Internacional del Cante de las Minas. Melón Jiménez\, one of Spain’s leading flamenco guitarists\, toured with Anoushka Shankar in her project Traveller. The circle is completed by Chaitanya Natu\, an Indian percussionist who moved to Spain driven by his curiosity for flamenco while studying at Berklee College of Music Valencia. \nBorn from the established flamenco duo Melón Jiménez & Lara Wong\, TRILOG expands this dialogue by incorporating the Indian tabla into its musical language. With a solid international trajectory\, Melón and Lara have performed over 100 concerts across Europe\, North America\, Asia and Africa\, and their album Confluencias (2024) received a nomination at the Juno Awards. \nAlthough TRILOG is their most recent trio project\, it has already begun to make its mark\, performing at festivals such as Festival Internacional JAZZMADRID\, JazzOn Festival and Festival des Andalousies Atlantiques (Morocco). Their debut album is scheduled for release in autumn 2026.

SUMMARY:Las Bajas Pasiones
DESCRIPTION:Trusty vocals · Edu Libra guitar and vocals · Furvoice DJ and synthesizers \nLas Bajas Pasiones return in 2026 with a new record that further expands their sonic and emotional universe. After three albums and the aesthetic shift of Belleza (2024)\, the duo continues exploring the boundaries between electronic pop\, rap\, and queer experimentation\, with sharp lyrics\, intense beats\, and a constant political edge. \nTheir new album\, available early next year\, moves between futuristic melancholy and critical hedonism\, drawing on sounds from drum ’n’ bass\, hyperpop\, and emotional electronica\, while retaining the essence that has made them one of the reference points of Spain’s LGTBIQ+ scene. Tracks like “El Fin De La Historia\,” “Luciérnagas\,” and “Ya Se Acaba la Noche” offer a preview of this journey: a soundtrack for collapse\, but also for desire\, tenderness\, and everyday resistance. \nIn 2026\, Las Bajas Pasiones will bring their new live show to the stage with the same intensity as always: a cathartic and defiant party where the intimate and the collective meet. \nStanding concert.
