SUMMARY:Matias Míguez Quartet
DESCRIPTION:Matias Míguez electric bass · Pere Miró saxophone · Alejandro Di Costanzo piano · David Xirgu drums \nSWANGO PRESENTATION \nSwango is the second album by Matías Míguez\, an Argentine bassist and composer who has been living in Catalonia for the past 23 years. The album combines the soundscapes of jazz and tango through a vision shaped by improvisation. The eight pieces that make up the record share an emotional intensity conveyed through their melodies\, balancing a melancholic aesthetic with the intense rhythm of contemporary metropolises. \nSwango is best experienced as an indivisible work\, where the diversity of musical approaches reveals a rich\, hybrid cultural background filled with emotional snapshots that the composer gradually unfolds throughout this journey. \nMatías Míguez\, on electric bass and composition\, is committed to the handcrafted creation of an original and distinctive concept\, driven by the chemistry of an outstanding group of musicians: Pere Miró on saxophone\, Alejandro Di Costanzo on piano\, and David Xirgu on drums.

SUMMARY:Garland / Keezer – Festival de Jazz de Barcelona
DESCRIPTION:Tim Garland saxophone · Geoffrey Keezer piano \nThe transatlantic meeting started 25 years ago with Garland’s Made By Walking album on Chick Corea’s label and continued with three albums with the “Storms/Nocturnes” trio (also featuring Joe Locke). \nTim Garland and Geoffrey Keezer\, both seasoned players have globe-trotted with some of the most famous players in music and show their crystalline lyrical maturity as well as incendiary virtuosity in a set that features one new and rare instrument after which the new album is named: MEZZO \nThere are only 20 handmade Mezzo-Soprano saxophones in the world. Garland’s rich and expressive sound on the Mezzo features on six tracks\, with the remaining two featuring his celebrated regular soprano.\nWith references to a fully acoustic classical sensibility as well as jazz\, stunning originals sit alongside renditions of famous pieces by Satie (Gnossaine)\, Cole Porter (Every Time We Say Goodbye) and NY scene legend Mulgrew Miller. \nMezzo will be the first jazz album to showcase the Mezzo Soprano saxophone\, and the project is an ideal showcase for music conventions and hybrid music festivals as well as international jazz festivals with and without amplification. A US / UK collaboration of global stature. \nAs Peter Jessen\, creator of the Mezzo Soprano Sax said recently\, “Your sound and feel of it is really the realisation of everything I wanted it to be! Sublime playing and very fine writing”

SUMMARY:David Hazeltine Trio
DESCRIPTION:David Hazeltine piano · Ignasi González double bass · Xaver Hellmeier drums \nDavid Hazeltine (over 50 million Spotify streams) is one of the few contemporary pianists who masters all fundamental musical skills\, from improvisation and technique to accompaniment\, arranging\, and composition. It is therefore no surprise that he is the most recorded contemporary jazz pianist of our time\, with thirty-five albums as a leader and hundreds more as a sideman\, across several major record labels worldwide. \nDavid Hazeltine has been a mainstay of the vibrant New York jazz scene for decades\, where in his youth he was mentored by trumpeter Chet Baker. Inspired by postwar greats such as Charlie Parker and John Coltrane\, he plays with a solid and nuanced expression that has continually renewed and reinterpreted the way traditional jazz can be performed. His style and expression have taken him to the world’s most prestigious stages\, from New York’s Carnegie Hall to festivals across the globe. SUMMARY:Cicle John Coltrane i Miles Davis: Dion Hoorn i Casey-Joan Whyte
DESCRIPTION:Dion Hoorn alto saxophone · Casey-Joan Whyte violin · Masa Kamaguchi bass · Stephen Keogh drums \nThis group\, co-led by Casey-Joan Whyte and Dion Hoorn—two young musicians of remarkable talent (aged 18 and 22\, respectively)—shows that jazz is more alive than ever. Casey\, who is also a classical violin soloist\, has performed violin concertos with orchestra on numerous occasions\, including Saint-Saëns’ Violin Concerto No. 3 and Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto. In the jazz field\, she improvises at the highest level.Dion Hoorn has an impressive technique\, executes lines with millimetric precision\, and plays with great energy\, especially on the alto saxophone. He is also an excellent bassist. Both compose their own music\, part of which will be performed tonight\, but the focus will be on the music and spirit of John Coltrane. Music is not limited by time\, geography\, or race. It points toward something that transcends divisions.

The multicultural jazz ensemble brings enormous energy to the stage while demonstrating wonderful togetherness in music.” — Süddeutsche Zeitung \n“This is how jazz or improvisational music can sound today — risky and uncompromising. We bow!” — Jazz Podium Magazine (Top 3 Best Albums) \n“This double album deserves an audience beyond jazz specialists — and if Kuhn Fu performs near you: go!” — BR Culture Night

SUMMARY:El Gavira
DESCRIPTION:Pablo Gavira guitar\, vocals · Gabriel Antonio Escurra drums \nEl Gavira is a natural expression of the nonconformity that defines Gen Z\, wrapped in a layer of irony\, sarcasm\, and timeless sensitivity. A particularly original and seemingly detached perspective\, with a bittersweet undertone—much like life itself. \nThe ten songs that make up his debut album\, Pus (2022)\, lay the foundation for this message\, always balancing between hope\, frustration\, and the absurd. \nMúsica Chiste\, Música Triste (2023) serves as the motto of a record where a blend of rock influences merges with pop-punk and noise-pop sounds. \nPlaza Bohemia (2026)\, his latest release\, draws a generational map with a deeper emotional background\, focusing on themes that mark a clear transition toward personal and artistic maturity. \nThis concert is standing and for individuals aged +18 years old.
