Garland’s rich and expressive sound on the Mezzo features on six tracks\, with the remaining two featuring his celebrated regular soprano.\nWith references to a fully acoustic classical sensibility as well as jazz\, stunning originals sit alongside renditions of famous pieces by Satie (Gnossaine)\, Cole Porter (Every Time We Say Goodbye) and NY scene legend Mulgrew Miller. \nMezzo will be the first jazz album to showcase the Mezzo Soprano saxophone\, and the project is an ideal showcase for music conventions and hybrid music festivals as well as international jazz festivals with and without amplification. Inspired by postwar greats such as Charlie Parker and John Coltrane\, he plays with a solid and nuanced expression that has continually renewed and reinterpreted the way traditional jazz can be performed. His style and expression have taken him to the world’s most prestigious stages\, from New York’s Carnegie Hall to festivals across the globe. Over his career\, he has collaborated with prominent artists including Ron Carter\, Al Foster\, Louis Hayes\, Peter Washington\, Joe Farnsworth\, Eric Alexander\, and George Mraz.

In the jazz field\, she improvises at the highest level.Dion Hoorn has an impressive technique\, executes lines with millimetric precision\, and plays with great energy\, especially on the alto saxophone. He is also an excellent bassist. Both compose their own music\, part of which will be performed tonight\, but the focus will be on the music and spirit of John Coltrane. Music is not limited by time\, geography\, or race. It points toward something that transcends divisions.
