The ESEM Big Band – the jazz orchestra of the Higher College of Musical Studies of the Taller de Músics – comes to the Jamboree, conducted by the great David Pastor. The ESEM began in September 2019 with the aim of training future professional musicians in the experience of playing with a big band. It consists of third- and fourth-year degree students from the Taller. The aim is to continue the work begun in 1984 by the Young Effervescence Big Band – then the Jove Big Band. Today the YEBB is made up of the best students from the first and second year of the degree course, while the members of the ESEM Big Band are already nearly professionals. They will prove it with a performance that includes a traditional big band repertoire.
