The Barcelona label Fresh Sound New Talent, one of the most prestigious in contemporary jazz – it released the first records by Brad Mehldau, Robert Glasper, the Bad Plus and a good number of Spanish jazz musicians, among other claims to fame – is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year. The Jamboree is joining in with the party and this month it launches a series of initiatives. To begin with, it is inviting everyone to experience an unrepeatable session with young London jazz talents. The Plaça Reial basement club will see a performance by a unique band who will join some of the most active jazz players in Barcelona. It’s a concert where we’ll enjoy different line-ups and projects ending up a top-class jam as unique as it is unpredictable. ‘London meets Barcelona’ is a well-deserved party in honour of the Fresh Sound New Talent label.
