Since he was 19 years old, the Italian Adriano Tórtora has lived in Valencia, where he trained as a pianist and now carries on his artistic career. As a soloist, he leads a trio with Michelangelo Scandroglio (Getxo Jazz Award 2021) and Tico Porcar, with whom he has recorded Choret, an album of his own songs. He describes them as “extremely melodic”, with titles inspired by the sea, such as “Océano”, “Sotto il mare” and “Sopra le stelle”. The title track “Choret” also brings together three musical styles: Brazilian choro, baroque music and jazz: an evocative mixture exemplifying the idiosyncrasies of this inquisitive musician.
