Pianist Albert Bover and double bassist Horacio Fumero have been one of the great duos of our jazz for thirty years. Plegats have offered emblematic concerts and published two magnificent works, ‘Duo’ (Fresh Sound New Talent, 1997) and ‘Caminhos cruzados’ (Contrabaix / Karonte, 2008), with repertoires that include jazz classics to pieces of music Latin American – from different countries and traditions – and of course, own themes. The Albert Bover-Horacio Fumero Duo returns to the Jamboree with the intention of performing a selection of jazz standards, Brazilian music and some compositions of their own, arranged expressly for this session. “Fire and spontaneity guaranteed,” they say. I, of you, would go down the stairs of the Jamboree.
