‘Same Moon in the Same World’ is a new collaboration between British musicians Alex Hitchcock and Ant Law. Recorded in 2020 and 2021, the album brings together an all-star cast including Joel Ross, Linda May Han Oh, Ben Williams, Jasper Høiby, Jeff Ballard, Kendrick Scott, Sun-Mi Hong and Eric Harland. It is certainly Hitchcock and Law’s most ambitious work to date. Newspapers such as The Guardian have written that it may mark “a before and after” in the jazz world. The well-known jazz player Walter Smith III has said of Alex Hitchcock that he is “an incredible saxophonist, with something unique and original to offer”. ‘Same Moon in the Same World’ documents the creativity and the genuinely extraordinary connection between two young musicians with a bright future. At the Jamboree they will perform as a quartet with equally excellent instrumentalists.
