Angela Grey – Soulful Jazz from Manila to Manhattan to Paris
Filipino-American jazz vocalist and singer-songwriter Angela Grey brings a rich blend of Jazz, Soul and Folk, shaped by a life lived between Manila, New York City and Paris. She first stepped into the jazz world at just 16, discovering NYC’s Small’s Jazz Club, and has since grown into a standout voice on the Paris jazz scene, where she currently hosts the Vocal Jam Sessions at the legendary Duc des Lombards.
With a warm tone and emotional depth often compared to Dinah Washington and shades of Amy Winehouse, Angela channels her experiences into heartfelt performances. Her lyricism, inspired by The Beatles’ universal storytelling, shines through in both her original work and fresh takes on jazz classics.
Her debut album “Prisoner of Love” (April 2025) features two original songs and six reimagined standards, recorded with a Nat King Cole–inspired quartet (piano, guitar & double bass) at Zoot Studios in Paris. Angela Grey delivers a timeless sound infused with soul, joy, and sincerity.
