Antonio Monasterio Ensamble — World-rooted jazz fusion with a free spirit
Antonio Monasterio Ensamble is a vibrant music project born in Valparaíso, Chile, that reimagines contemporary jazz and world music through a bold, syncretic approach. Since 2016, the sextet has stood out for its compositional freedom, search for unique timbres and structures, and a rhythmic pulse that bridges cultures and sonic landscapes.
Their second full-length album, Las Furias y el Mar (Mescalina, 2023), earned them the Pulsar Award 2024 for Best Jazz Fusion Artist (Chile) and international recognition at Madrid’s WE:NOW Festival.
Bringing together top musicians from Valparaíso, Santiago and diverse musical backgrounds, the group has taken their sound to major venues and festivals in Asia —including Seoul Music Week, Meet in Beijing, and Shibuya Home in Tokyo.
A powerful, poetic and borderless sonic journey that invites listeners to dive deep into new musical territories.
