Concert of the Festival Grec Ciutat program.
Aruan Ortiz prepared piano, Arnau Pàmies keyboards, electric guitar and Abelton Live, Jordi Mateu lighting.
Pianist Aruán Ortiz and electronic music composer and producer Joan Arnau Pàmies come together in DES DE LA PROFUNDITAT, an original composition based on some of the consequences of global warming.
Written for prepared piano, live electronics and additional instruments, DES DE LA PROFUNDITAT is born from a narrative where events such as droughts, extreme temperatures and floods become major influences on the musical ideas presented throughout the piece., with a setting in scene that includes Jordi Mateu’s lighting effects.
The instrument whose sound has been altered by placing various elements on top or between the strings is called “prepared piano”. One of these pianos is the one played by Aruán Ortiz who, in Des de la profundidad, presents us with a piece he created and performs with the electronic music composer and producer Joan Arnau Pàmies. It is a piece of music that has as its theme the consequences of global warming and is performed with the aforementioned prepared piano, live electronics and additional instruments. How does drought, extreme temperatures and floods sound? They explain it to you in a concert with a staging that includes lighting effects by Jordi Mateu.
The jazz cellar in Plaça Reial is added to the Grec Festival in Barcelona for one more year with a selection of great musicians who, like Aruán Ortiz and Joan Arnau Pàmies, offer us a series of high-quality artistic projects, projects of contemporary creations that share a certain prominence of the voice and are accessible to all audiences.
