Balta Bordoy & The Bad Boys, with Víctor Puertas as special guest, come to the Jamboree to present the CD Rock My Blues Away, released on the French label Bluz Track. Balta Bordoy & The Bad Boys are a solid r & b band who combine elements of electric blues, gospel, groove and jazz. The Majorcan Balta Bordoy, a blues and r & b guitarist and sideman for figures like James Harman, Sax Gordon, Alex Schultz, Keith Dunn and Barrelhouse Chuck, leads the band, as well as working in Barcelona, where he lives, with likes of Lluís Coloma, Big Dani Pérez, Big Mama and Myriam Swanson. His style draws on T-Bone Walker, Johnny “Guitar” Watson, Otis Rush, B.B. King and other great blues names. In 2018 he teamed up with Víctor Puertas to found his own quartet. This prestigious harmonica player, pianist and singer will play the Hammond B3 in the style of Will Bill Davis and Jimmy Smith, among others, and sing in imitation of Louis Jordan, B.B. King and Ray Charles. For his part, saxophonist Nil Mujal will sound like Illinois Jacquet, King Curtis and other masters, and drummer Arnau Julià will provide rhythmic accompaniment inspired by Fred Below and Earl Palmer, and the improvisation of Elvin Jones.
