The Barcelona Big Blues Band (BBBB) is back – a line-up which, promoted by Ivan Kovacevic, has become one of the most powerful orchestras on the in the country on the swing, jazz, blues and r ‘n’ b circuit. The BBBB used to be a classic for Sunday afternoons at the Jamboree, but from this month onwards they will be performing in the Plaça Reial basement club on the first Saturday of every month. The day of the week may be changing but not their custom of having an amazing guest artist. This time it’s Dani Nel·lo, a Barcelona saxophonist with a long career behind him and a special fondness for the music of the forties and the sound of the great saxophonists, like Red Prysock, Sil Austin and King Curtis. In the company of the greatest r ‘n’ b band in the country, Nel·lo combines energy and elegance in a unique show recreating the real spirit of earlier times.
