Bartha & Arnedo Quartet is a collaboration between Hungarian pianist Matyas Bartha, resident in Vienna, and Barcelona drummer Guillem Arnedo, two musicians who have been playing together since 2015, when they met in New York. The Garriguen trumpeter Pol Omedes and the American double bassist Danny Ziemann, also from Vienna, complete the line-up. Bartha & Arnedo Quartet therefore represents a bridge between the scenes of Barcelona and Vienna. In terms of style, the quartet masters the art of swing and offers a combined repertoire of their own songs and jazz standards. With a “refreshing and deep” sound, they explain, they have recorded two albums, ‘Lazy Lady’ (Hunia Records, 2021) and ‘It’s About Time’ (Hunia Records, 2023), which they will release at the Jamboree.
