Benjamín Aedo – Friends of a Silver River
Chilean musician and composer Benjamín Aedo celebrates his debut album in concert: Friends of a Silver River, developed in Argentina with musicians from various backgrounds, blending folklore, chamber music, and jazz. The program features original compositions as well as reinterpretations of classics by Violeta Parra and Víctor Jara.
Benjamín Aedo has won the Margot Loyola competition twice (2021 and 2024) and has performed in Chile, Argentina, Spain, France, Slovakia, Germany, and Australia, both as a soloist and as part of ensembles, including projects with Magdalena Matthey and Guanaco Trío.
His works are marked by a sensitive and nuanced musical language, influenced by masters such as Argentinean Carlos Aguirre and inspired by artists like Egberto Gismonti, Lea Freire, Pat Metheny Group, Mario Laginha, and Milton Nascimento, among others.
