Blood Quartet consists of New Yorker Mark Cunningham – a former member of Mars – and the Catalans Kike Bela, Lluís Rueda and Marc Eugeni, musicians from Ferran Palau, El Petit de Cal Eril, Bela, etc. Their music follows the path of no-wave, in the direction of free-jazz, primitive minimalism, ambient landscapes and swamp rock. Their new album, ‘Root 7’ (Foehn Records, 2022), is a musical treatise that departs from the instrumental base of the modern jazz quartet to move towards the territory of experimentation and electronica.
