CARLOS SARDUY & THE GROOVE MESSENGERS
Carlos Sarduy is without a doubt one of the most active and multifaceted musicians of the local scene and specially in the Jamboree where he has performed with different formations during the last months. This time he’s back with The Groove Messenger, a project that gives center stage to the most cadenced rhythm in African American music. But, as is Sarduy’s style, there is a twist: this time he offers a blend between the jazz/funk universes and Cuban music, with a dash of colors and rhythms from Bahia. A versatile musician with a prolific career, Sarduy is well known for collaborating with musicians like Chucho and Bebo Valdés, Steve Coleman, David Murray, Esperanza Spalding, Buika, Mariza, Ainhoa Arteta and Ojos de Brujo, among others, besides his very successful solo career.
