Chuchito Valdés
Composer, pianist, and arranger Jesús “Chuchito” Valdés has inherited the legacy of two legends of Cuban jazz: his father, Chucho Valdés, and his grandfather, Bebo Valdés. With spectacular mastery of the piano that at times evokes Oscar Peterson or Monty Alexander, Chuchito Valdés interprets the treasures of Cuban music—such as mambo, danzón, cha-cha-chá, and son montuno—with a style infused by his illustrious predecessors. He is undoubtedly the most prominent member of the third generation of this distinguished musical dynasty.
