Aiala is a young singer who, since 2019, has released two critically acclaimed albums and has performed at festivals such as Cruïlla XXS, the Black Music Festival and Let’s Festival. A pop culture and black music enthusiast, she acknowledges influences from Nina Simone, Amy Winehouse, Salt ‘n’ Pepa and David Bowie, among others. For his part, Marco Fonktana is a well-known MC on the Barcelona hip-hop scene. When it comes to producing electronica, Fonktana is Eltornado, working with artists like Aiala to offer powerful bass, seductive grooves and, ultimately, good dance music. In the summer of 2020, Aiala and Eltornado teamed up to record a couple of singles and their collaboration has continued this year, with a set of EPs and singles. They have also launched a daringly staged live show with the collaboration of Josep Blanes (trombone) and Uri Escolano (trumpet). It is a bold approach by Aiala and Eltornado, blending r ‘n’ b and rap with electronica and a brass section.
