There are few vocalists on our jazz scene with a higher international profile than Susana Sheiman and tonight she shows off her tremendous versatility in an original, new show accompanied by great Spanish jazz musicians. “La vie en confidence” offers a dialogue in the form of songs between Billie Holiday and Edith Piaf, two great women of contemporary popular music with lives marked by turbulent times and a context of great social and political change – the threat of Nazism in Europe and the curse of racism in the country of the American Dream. With originality and special sensitivity, Sheiman interweaves pieces from the repertoires of both great divas into a fresh, evocative dialogue.
