Pianist David Hazeltine stands out for his mastery of improvisation, accompaniment, arrangements, and composition. He is also an innovative musician with a prolific discography: 35 albums as a leader and hundreds of titles as a sideman on renowned labels. Born in Milwaukee (USA), Hazeltine was already playing in jazz clubs as a child. As a teenager, he captivated jazz legends like Sonny Stitt and Chet Baker, who convinced him to make the leap to New York in 1992. Hazeltine masters a wide range of styles. His melodies and harmonies are beautifully complex and memorable, and he has forged a easily recognizable style of his own. At Mas i Mas 2024, he will join forces with one of the great saxophonists of our jazz scene, the Andalusian Enrique Oliver, a musician with an impressive career that includes albums with Jordi Rossy, Albert Sanz, Jaume Llombart, among others, and a solid solo career.
