‘Film Sessions’ is a proposal promoted by trumpeter David Pastor consisting of recreating melodies from soundtracks that are part of the collective memory. The repertoire is a sound projection of the music from such emblematic feature films as ‘Chinatown’, ‘Breakfast at Tiffany’s’, ‘Black Orpheus’ and ‘Saturday Night Fever’. The objective of this project is to make the public take center stage; that reunites with the memory of the film and establishes a connection with the current moment, thanks to the reharmonization of the compositions, to rhythmic games full of spaces for improvisation, with which the soundtracks acquire the character of jazz transience.
