Deborah Brown vocals · Matyas Gayer piano · Mark Hodgson bass · Stephen Keogh drums
Deborah Brown is one of the finest jazz vocalists active today, a “singer’s singer” with a magnificent voice and stunning technique. Vocalist JD Walter mentioned her as a master and inspiring mentor in a recent AAJ interview. She is regarded as one of the greatest jazz singers of all time. Due to her travel preferences, she is less known in the United States than in Europe and internationally.
Currently residing in Kansas City, Missouri, Brown spent considerable time in Europe, where she worked as a teacher and mentor, all while touring around the globe.
She has earned a reputation as one of the best in the industry. Her skill and versatility are demonstrated by her work, often on recordings, with large studio orchestras such as the Netherlands’ Metropole Orchestra, as well as in the intimate setting of duets, including notable sessions with pianists Dorothy Donegan and Roger Kellaway, among others.
