Emilio Solla Quartet feat. Antonio Lizana - Jamboree Jazz

Antonio Lizana saxo & vocals, Emilio Solla piano, Manel Fortià double bass, David Xirgu drums.

Winner of a Latin Grammy in 2020, the Argentinian pianist and composer Emilio Solla settled in New York 16 years ago now, after living in Barcelona between 1996 and 2006. His music starts with tango and Argentine folk and reaches contemporary jazz by expanding the classic concept of Latin jazz. At the Jamboree, he will present a new quartet in which he takes a step forward and teams up with the new star of flamenco-jazz: the great singer and saxophonist Antonio Lizana, from Cadiz. Together, they explore tunes from the traditional Argentinian repertoire – Yupanqui, Gardel – and perform their own music, composed by the two musicians for this quartet. The group is performing for the first time in Spain before returning to New York, where they intend to record an album next November.
