At the age of 32, the multifaceted American pianist and composer Emmet Cohen is one of the leading figures of his generation for some excellent reasons. The well-known magazine Downbeat praises his “agile touch, measured pace and warm harmonic vocabulary” he used to communicate with musicians and the audience. Leader of his own trio and creator of the ‘Masters Legacy Series’, Cohen is an internationally renowned jazz artist. A finalist in the highly prestigious Thenolonious Monk International Piano Competition in 2011, in 2019 he received first prize in the American Pianists Awards. Throughout his career, he has played at the main international jazz festivals and at venues like the Lincoln Center (New York) and the Kennedy Center (Washington). For years he has also been resident Hammond B-3 keyboard player at the Smoke Club in New York. Aside from his solo career, we should also mention his work with jazz masters such as Ron Carter, Benny Golson, Jimmy Cobb, George Coleman, Jimmy Heath, Tootie Heath, Houston Person, Christian McBride, Kurt Elling, Billy Hart, Herlin Riley, Lea DeLaria and Bill T. Jones. He is currently a Mack Avenue label artist.
