At just 31 years old, American pianist and composer Emmet Cohen has become one of the most important jazz musicians of his generation. Downbeat magazine has described his style as “nimble touch, measured pace, and a warm harmonic vocabulary that he uses to communicate with musicians and audiences.” The leading publication in music journalism also states that he possesses “a deep level of humanity and personal character.” A finalist in the Thelonious Monk competition, the most prestigious in the world, Emmet Cohen has worked with Ron Carter, Benny Golson, Jimmy Cobb, George Coleman, Jimmy Heath, Christian McBride, and Kurt Elling, among others. As a solo artist, he leads his own trio and is the author of the celebrated ‘Master Legacy Series’, where he collaborates with jazz legends in recognized monographic works. During the pandemic, he launched the YouTube channel ‘Live From Emmet’s House’, with millions of views. In fact, the channel is still ongoing, with new guests in each session.
