The Jamboree is keeping up its commitment to promoting emerging talents from Italy in Barcelona, where even the best-known names in Italian jazz rarely appear. One of these new talents is the guitarist Francesco Fiorenzani, who released a fantastic album in 2018: Silent Water. With a quartet line-up, he explored the tonal possibilities of the group with exquisite treatment of melody, harmony and rhythmic cadence. Electric and electrifying music which is gentle but intense; sensual but profound, in the best tradition of contemporary jazz. In 2020, Fiorenzani and his group were chosen to form part of the New Generation Jazz circuit promoted by the Jazz and Europe Jazz Network and other organisations with the aim of presenting promising young European jazz musicians all over the continent. At the Jamboree, Fiorenzani will perform the repertoire from Silent Water a few months before launching a much-anticipated new album.
