Gerard Chumilla sax, Noé Sécula piano.
Gerard Chumilla & Noé Sécula is a project that began in Switzerland, where the two musicians met as students at the Basel Jazzcampus. The group’s music brings together the personality of the two performers, with influences from jazz, classical music and other genres. The repertoire consists of original tunes and improvised music with a very particular stamp. During their time at the Jazzcampus, Chumilla and Sécula were students of Mark Turner, Jordi Rossy, Larry Grenadier, Brad Mehldau, Ambrose Akinmusire, Guillermo Klein and other figures in jazz. This year, Chumilla will record his first album with Jordi Rossy on drums and Larry Grenadier on double bass, as well as Noé himself as a collaborator. The Jamboree therefore has the honour of welcoming two promising youngsters from the international jazz scene.
